Biography

Pallabi Sarma, who is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the College of Education, Kaliabor, holds a Master’s degree in three subjects including Drawing and Painting, Assamese and Political Science. She has also obtained her degree in B.Ed.
For the past several years, she has been attending Art in education Training at Govt. college of teacher education of Tezpur and Sikshan Mahavidyalaya of Nagaon as a resource person .
Pallabi Sarma, who has experience working as an empanel designer in various parts of the North East under the Ministry of Textiles and Handicrafts, Government of India from 2006 to 2015, was serving as a resource person in the SIPRD department of the Government of Assam from 2014 to 2017.
Pallabi Sarma, who started her solo exhibition as a painter in 2006, has participated in several joint exhibitions and workshops at state and national levels as well as abroad in Mumbai, Delhi, Tripura, Bangalore, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir and Nepal.
She has also been working for the past several years to preserve the neglected heritage public resources of Bishnupuri Than in Kampur and various satras in Kaliabar area.
She is the editor of Chitrapat, the only art magazine published from Nagaon. She has been writing articles on art in various newspapers and magazines of Assam from time to time.
